International Biennieal of graphic design, Brno 2010
„Design of the visual style for the 24th International Biennial of graphic design in Brno. The idea of the concept was to reach a wider target audience and to try to entice them to visit the biennial of graphic design. I chose the theme of "Be fit with graphic design" and used it to develop follow-up ideas, for example slogans such as "only the best extracts", "doesn't cause undesirable side effects", "no risk of overdose", etc. The Moravian art gallery therefore became a "graphic design fitness centre" during the biennial. As a continuation of the concept, the visitor can be engaged in a game of "before/after" when visiting the biennial, or can participate in an "energy point" scheme - a poster or another item of graphic design can be awarded a "point" by a visitor for the most received graphic energy, with the aim of copies of the most awarded items being placed on a tubular barrel that the visitors can hug to gain graphic energy from the posters. The catalogue of the graphic design biennial would have healing properties / be full of graphic energy, as it would contain only the best extracts. The 24th biennial of graphic design in Brno in 2010 should get the visitors in shape / replenish energy / refresh them, and be full of energy.“

Věra Marešová studied the Department of Graphic Design and Visual Communication at the Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design in Prague. She specializes in corporate identity, and, since 2008, she has been a freelance graphic designer for Czech Television. In 2005, she won the Czech National Design Award for the logo and corporate identity for the City of Brno. She has also had commissions for the Ministry of Transport and the Ekofilm International Festival.
